Three Year Old Vocabulary

Well in the past few days Ella has come out with a few good ones.
Yesterday I had to reprimand her a few times for doing something wrong and after the third or fourth time I ended up yelling. Well out to the kitchen she comes. She stamps her foot on the floor and yells "Mommy we have an issue here." Then last night we were having a dance party and I told her this was what we were going to be doing at Auntie' wedding. I said we were going to dance our bootie off. Well she says "No I don't want to dance my booite off. I need it to pee." The other day at snack it was not doing what she wanted it to and she got upset. All of a sudden I hear her say "Jesus Christis" Well I told her that she is not allowed to say that and if she says it again that she will be put into time out. Then she looks at me and with a big smile on her face she says "I want to watch Sponge Boob." It had all the air of well take that Mommy. So again she was told not to use those words for there would be a very long time out. I just don't know where she gets her attitude from? HA HA HA HA. I think I am in big trouble.

The Birthday is over

Well finally the Birthday is over. Here are some pictures from the days.

Friday outside with her blow up birthday cake.
Opening presents with Mommy and Daddy.

Then on Saturday we went to Beak and Skiff apple farm with Grandpa Phil.

Saturday night I was up until 2 a.m. Sunday morning conquering Dora the cake. Here are the results.

Then on Sunday we had birthday with Grandma Fran, Auntie Judy, and Uncle Howard. We picked pumpkins and had a party.

WOW look at all of Uncle Howard and Grandma Fran's pumpkins!!!

Then on Monday we went to dinner with Grandma Mary. Ella had to get all dressed up as you can see. The whole way there she kept saying we are going to be late for the ball. Then when we got there she had to use the bathroom about four times. The last time she did we heard clapping. Well when we came out the wait staff had been to the table to sing to her and we were in the bathroom so then we had to wait for them to come out. The other customers thought that was funny.

All in all it was a great birthday. Very exhausting, but fun. Thank you to everyone.

Birthday Day two and three

Yesterday was day two of the five day birthday. The first day was school. Friday Ella and I spent the day together. We played and saw some friends and then played with Riley who is our favoiite neighbor. They Luke and I took her to Applebee's for dinner. While we were eating Ella noticed that they kept coming out to sing to people and wanted to know why. We told her that it was their bithdays and that was why. She then asked if they were going to sing to her. We told her that we did not know. She then stands up on the bench and stomps her foot and annouces "If they do not sing to me then it will not be my birthday." Well we explained that that is not nice and they will sing if they want to. She was very happy when they did finally sing to her. Then we rented some movies and opened presents.
Today we played with Riley and our new bubble blower. Then we went to Denny's with Grampa Phil for lunch. It is Ella's favorite resturant. She likes to get the french toast sticks. If fact she calls the resturant Frenchenny's. Then we went to Beak and Skiff apple farms. We picked apples, saw goats, bought an pumpkin and mum plant, and of course drank apple cider. It was a really fun day.
Well I am off to get Ella to bed. Then I have to make the Wilton Dora cake. I have baked it at the neighbors ofcourse thanks to our oven issue. So now I get to decorate it. It should be interesting. I will post a picture of poor deformed Dora later.

Firefighters are the good guys

Well we took cookies to the firefighters. Ella did very well. She was pretty scared, but she tackled it. She looked at the truck and I rang the bell for her. They turned on the lights and she got to see them. Then they talked to her about how they only help people and they would not hurt her or take her things. There was even one guy there who was at the house on Tuesday and he come out to talk to her also. They said Happy Birthday to her and gave her some coloring sheets to take home with her. When we got ready to leave she shook their hands and then waved to them all the way home. The fire house is only three or four houses from ours. So it was good. She got home and told me she was a little bit scared, but that they are good. The she started to color her sheets.

Updates as promised

So here are the pictures of the kitchen disaster. Right now we are at the point where were are dealing with the insurance. Not fun. Well tomorrow I will be taking Ella to the Fire House to take the firefighters some cookies to thank them for helping us and hope that she will become more comfortable with them. Today when we went outside to play she wanted to know if they were coming to take her toys away. So my visiting them I hope she will become more comfortable around them. We will see.

Now on the the Birthday party at school today. Of course everything had to be Dora. She really likes her. Then after the teachers handed out all the goodies that asked the class what they should say to Ella for bringing in such a nice treat. Well no one said anything so Ella speaks up and says "Say thank you". I guess she has heard that just a few too many times.

Last but not lease teddy bear picnic and swim. Ella did not cry as much today as the last time and even spent some time holding on to the wall with out the teacher. At the teddy bear picnic she was very excited that someone had a smaller bear like hers because she could be the mommy to it.

Don't Worry It Was Only Smoke

Well today I thought I would make a roast for dinner. I put the roast in the oven and then took the kids outside to use chalk on the driveway. We were having fun and then we heard the smoke detector going off. I came inside to find the oven control panel smoking. I turned off the oven and went back outside and one of the daycare parents called 911. Well in rush the fireman. Two big fire trucks block each end of the street and a third pulls up and then the rescue pickup truck comes also. As they are pulling up Luke calls to say he is on his way home from work and I have to quickly explain to him that the fire department is here and not to worry. Meanwhile Ella is totally freaking out and the neighbors take her with them. The firemen get in the house and decide that it was an electrical short in the oven and the walls were very close to catching fire on the inside. They had this little camera thing that should them how hot the walls were. They were trying to find the breaker to the oven and shut off power to it. Then I here them counting to three and they ripped my oven out of the wall. Then the proceeded to cut to wires off of it and drop it in my front yard. So that was my day. Ella is totally freaked out and kept talking out how there was no fire just smoke and how she saved my cupcake pans. She was so worked up about it. So the pictures that you see are the whole in my kitchen and the oven in the front yard. The best will be tomorrow. I have an interview for a new kid, the state will have to come out and investigate because of the fire, we have called in three contractors to come and give estimates and Luke is out of town for the day at a meeting, and I have to be to work at Wegmans at 6:30. Does anyone have a drink? As always more to come. Oh and Ella needs a birthday cake for this weekend. I have many offers for ovens, am afraid to use them.

p.s. I could not get the pictures the load so I will work on those later

Princess Hair

Today Ella and I went for hair trial for my sister's wedding. She did very well. However she was a little upset that I did not have her princess dress i.e. the flower girl dress for her to wear. As you can see she is quite the ham, we have told Edna to tell the Photographer to not say the word cheese, if she hears that the smile gets even more cheesey. Please ignore the pictures of me, I put them on for Enda and my mom to give feed back for me. Also today I had my first pedicure. Well I now need to get another job to support the habit. It was really nice. Thank you Mary.

SWIM SWIM

Well we made it through swim. After three nights of hardly any sleep and non stop worrying we made it. So there she was in the pool room and they put bubbles or swimmies on everyone. Then they had them set on the edge of the pool and kick their feet. Well Ella wouldn't even put her feet in. She watched the other kids for a little while then she finally did it. My mom, Luke, and I were hiding in an office watching her through a window. Well she caught a look at us so did go in for a minute and tell her that we would watch her from the office and to listen to the teachers. Then the teachers had the kids get in the pool and hold onto the side and bob up and down in the water. Well she did not get in until a teacher helped her, and then she just hung there. She was bobbing up and down, but only because the water from the other kids was making her. Then one by one the teachers came over and helped the kids swim to the other side of the pool. Well the teacher got to Ella and she did not want to get off the wall, but she took her and Ella would not let go of her and she cried and I cried and well you know how it goes. I did not go in to get her. After a while she did stop the teacher was very nice she held Ella and rubbed her head and then they brought out the noddles. Well the cry started again for both of us. They put the noddle around her and wanted the to just hold her hands. She did not want to do that. Well again after a little bit she did stop crying. So yes, I know she was fine and there was nothing to worry about. But I am who I am and will continue to worry until long after I am gone. Sorry there are no pictures. So stayed tune next weeks episodes, bring School Pictures, Teddy Bear Picnic, Birthday, Hair trial for the wedding, and much much more.

I am not in jail

O.k. so the first day was not so bad. First the dentist. Ella did not want to get in the chair. She did finally sit in the chair with me and let the hygenist count her teeth, but that was it. So we have rescheduled for Oct. 9th. Hopefully it will go better then. Well on to school the classroom did not change except for there was playdough out on the table, mind you the parents had to bring it in. I stayed for about 1/2 hour and then ran some errands then I went back to see the gym class. Here are two teachers and eight kids. The kids are lined up on the wall and there are four balls. The game is when you hear your name called then you get to go to the colored ball that is called out for you. Well they call Ella orange. Well every kids runs off the wall and someone else got the ball and Ella turns drops her head and shoulders and sticks out her lip and walks back to the wall. The teachers get the kids back on the wall and explain the rules again. Then try it again again the kids all come running of the wall it was just a hoot to watch. She seemed to really like her day. The next herdle will be swimming. More to come on that.

Just a funny story. Today we are driving home from Wal-Mart and I hear a thud in the back of the car and I hear "Oh no her leg fell off." Ella had been drying her baby's bum and truned the legs and one fell off. The tone in her voice was like it was no big deal like baby legs fall off all the time.

New Preschool

Well tomorrow is Ella's first day at a new preschool. I am a little worried. A few months ago I took a tour of the school. The classroom I saw was a big bright room with three windows, lot of toys and books, and a class pet. Well last Thursday was the open house night. Ella's room is small and dark with one window and hardly any toys and three books. I was not very impressed. Being the subtle person that I am I told the teacher that I will probably be the worst parent that they have, and asked where all of the toys and books are. She explained that they only got into the room two days ago and that this was a big improvement. Being a teacher myself, I can understand that. But I would really want to put my best foot forward for open house night. So I will give it this week if things do not change I will talk with them again. Ella will be going to school two days a week. On Tuesdays she will have gym and on Thursdays she will have swim lessons. There are eight kids in the class and two old women who teach the lessons. That is the first thing that I am uncomfortable with, however the staff assures me that they are great with the kids, and that the kids are not forced to do anything. They can move at there own pace. However people outside of the school have told me different. One women told me that they throw them in the pool and not to worry becasue they will swim, adn the other told me that they do dunk the kids. If any of that happens to Ella there will be big trouble. I have take her first two days off from work, just so that I can see how things go. So if there is not a post tomorrow night about the first day I would appricatie if you guys would take up a collection for my bail because I am probably in jail. The reall test will be Thursday at swim. They would prefer I not be in the pool room, but if Ella is really scared and wants me just try and keep me out, otherwise I will be in an office that has a window into the pool room. I plan to go to each swim either Luke or myself until I am comfortable with it. Oh and if this is not bad enough. Tomorrow morning is also Ella's dentist appointment. She has only been one other time. I sceduled them months ago and could not change them. She told Luke tonight that she is not getting in the chair, because it is for big people only. SO, dentist first and then first day at a new school. I will probably be having cocktails by 10am. More to come.

OK here we go!!!!

Well this will be my feable attempt at making sense of my life. Maybe putting it out there for all to read will help me to understand it. Ten years ago I met the love of my life. We just celebrated out 8th wedding anniversay. Oh by the way you will quickly find out that I am not the best speller. We will soon be celebrating our daughter, Ella's third birthday. She has proven to be quite a spirited child. My pregnacy was not one of the easiest and after the birth I am pretty sure that I went through some post partum depression, but because you are not suppose to feel that way I really did not let anyone know about it. I just kept it in, and I am pretty srue that it had a big impact on the type of parent I am. Which by the way I really don't like. I feel as though I have pretty much comitted every parenting mistake in the first two years, but she seems to be coming along just fine. In additon to that in the past two years I have seen my share of death. My father was dignoised with Lung Cancer in November of 2005 and passed away in July 2006. My Grandmother died in June of 2007, my cousin died of Lung Caner in August of 2007, and a friends wife died of Lung Cancer in August of 2007. All in all I have decided that I am done with death for now and I just can not handel any more. A lot of who I am now was shaped in the past few years. The deaths have really taken a toll on me and I have just really started to come to terms with it all. I am now on a road to begin the healing. I need to let go of many different issues and move on with my life. I have so many great things in my life right now and I need to focus on them. Ella is a prue joy to have in my life. She as been the one to keep me going. She needs me and so I have to keep moving. Luke, my husband, is like any other huband he needs a few reminder to keep up with the honeydo list, but he has put up with a lot from me. I have been very preoccupied and he has done his best to keep up with it all. He is my rock and I love him. My family is great. We have a very exciting, but hard time coming up. My younger sister is getting married. So I have so much to be thankful for and need to begin to concintrate on that. Well enough of that. So this is my family's journey through life. I hope that this will begin to help me heal, and give you all a few laughs along the way.
