Mother's Day Weekend

Well this was a busy weekend. Luke had a business trip to Rochester Thursday and Friday. My Sister lives in Rochester so on Friday morning Ella and I headed to Rochester. We went to Chuck E. Cheeses for lunch. I am not sure who had more fun Ella or Mommy and Auntie Edna. We are addicted to getting the tickets. Then we picked up Daddy and went back to Edna's. On Saturday my Mom came to Rochester and we all went to the Lilac Festival. It really was not what we thought it would be. We only saw one lilac bush the whole time. We had a good time, just would have liked to see more flowers. Ella had a blast. We had to park at the community college and ride a school bus to the festival, this is the second bus ride and she thought is was really cool. First there was a parade and the Lilac court was there. That meant PRINCESSES. After the parade while we were walking around she saw one of the princesses and had to have her picture taken with her.

Yes her shirt says Princess in Training.

Then on Sunday Ella took me out to breakfast at McDonald's. Then Luke had planned a trip to Sonnenberg Gardens. That was a lot of fun. There is a very large mansion and gardens that were the summer home to a very wealthy couple. There were not a lot of flowers in bloom, but he tulips were very pretty.

They had greenhouses with the most beautiful Orchids in them.

I was also able to see a Bird of Paradise for the first time. That was really neat.

Then they had a Japanese garden with a Japanese Tea House. While we were there there was a little girl all dressed up in traditional Japanese attire. Ella thought she was very pretty.

This next picture is for Cammie.

These next pictures are of some of the fountains and structures that were around the grounds. Ella liked the fountains best. They were so amazing. It is hard to believe that this was actually some one's home.

The rock garden was probably my most favorite garden that we saw. I like the idea that is was all rocks, and you can not kill them. Also there were so many little nooks and crannies that you could go to, it was just very peaceful.

This is the mansion.

Ella was pretending to be a princess in this picture. She was walking up the stairs and pretending to go to the ball.

All in all it was a wonderful day. I was able to spend it with the two most important people in my life. If it was not for them I would not have been given such a wonderful day. Too be a Mom is a very lucky, important, honorable job. I have never done a more important job in all of my life and I would never give it up.

Update

Well the last week was nothing great, but here a bunch of things that went on.

Friday I took her to the doctor for a dry skin rash. Well she hates the doctors and did not want to go. Finally she agreed to go in full princess regalia, because princesses are brave.

Ella went to spend the weekend at my Mom's. She learned how to swing on a tree branch.

Then on Monday night we baked cookies with her. She does not like cookie dough. I am not sure how she came from me, because I ate almost all of the dough.

Ella and her cheesy grin. We have a lot of cheese in our house.
